Chandu Kansodaria won both his frames to guide MCF ‘Happygo Cueast’ to home and away wins against NSCI ‘B’ in the concluding Section-A match of the CCI Kekoo Nicholson BSAM Billiards League 2019.

The defending champions CCI Prezmen with just four points to their credit, required to win both the final round matches against MIG Club’s MIG ‘Feathers’ in Section-A during the third and final week. The CCI team comprising of Hasan Badami, Narendra Hemdev and Dr. Phiroze Patel did well to defeat the MIG outfit of Prabdeep Singh, Nihaar Chavan, Nakul Parkar by a tight 665-659 point margin in the home fixture and keep their hopes alive of qualifying for the next round.

However, the CCI team which saw Nishant Dossa come in for Hemdev, failed to maintain the winning momentum in the away match and lost to a changed MIG combination of Prabdeep Singh, Ninad Borkar and Gaurav Prabhu 553-674, which ended their chances of making it to the last 16 round.

The win was crucial for MIG Feathers as they ended with nine points, including a bonus point, and grabbed the second position behind Mandpeshwar Civic Foundation team MCF ‘Happygo Cueast’, who topped the section. Powered by Chandu Kansodaria’s fine efforts having both his frames, MCF ‘Happygo Cueast’ defeated NSCI ‘B’ 563-413 in the away match and then scored a 603-513 victory in the home match to also finish with nine points and claimed the top position and a place in the pre-quarter-final round.
