Mumbai Che Raje who started the tournament on a positive note, winning a thriller against Telugu Bull, had a strong start against Diler Delhi before succumbing to a 35-56 defeat in the 2nd match of the Indo International Premiere Kabaddi League played at Balewadi on Thursday.
High on confidence from their last victory, Mumbai Che Raje started with a bang, dominating Diler Delhi in the opening minutes. Solid defence from Ravi and a super raid form Diljeet ensured Mumbai Che Raje imposed an all-out within the first 4 minutes of the match to lead the game by a massive 10-2 margin. Diler Delhi remained unfazed by this early setback and kept adding pressure on Mumbai Che Raje inflicting an all-out in the dying moments of the first quarter. The tables turned quickly as Delhi managed to take a 2 point lead at 14-12 at the end of the first quarter. Diljeet waged a lone battle against tough opposition but Delhi’s defence read his game and started intercepting his raids. Diler Delhi was sitting comfortably at 26-17 at the end of the second quarter.
Skipper Sunil Jaipal of Diler Delhi stepped up for his team in the 3rd and 4th quarters to give his team a comfortable lead. Mumbai Che Raje tried to stage a comeback but Sunils incredible run of 15 points ( 11 raids and 4 tackle) ensured Mumbai were all-out twice and helped his team to a 56-36 victory over Mumbai Che Raje.
