Consistent Loukic,Aditya power Gladiators charge

Chembur Gymkhana’s cueist Loukic Pathare showed excellent touch and control to produce some excellent performances and along with teammate Aditya Mehta, who also has been in fine nick, played stellar roles to ensure CG ‘Gladiators’ won all their four matches in succession in Section-E of the CCI Kekoo Nicholson BSAM Billiards League 2019.

Loukic Pathare played steadily in winning all his frames and guide CG Gladiators to four successive wins in Section-E of the CCI Kekoo Nicholson BSAM Billiards League.

Loukic Pathare played steadily in winning all his frames and guide CG Gladiators to four successive wins in Section-E of the CCI Kekoo Nicholson BSAM Billiards League.

A steady Loukic played consistently and rolled in two substantial breaks of 91 and 69 in winning both his frames in the home and away ties to lead Gladiators to comfortable victories against Bombay Gymkhana’s BG ‘Phantoms’ during the second week of the league. Gladiators won 455-338 at home and 544-469 in the away match. Aditya ably supported Loukic by also maintaining a 100 percent success in winning both his frames.

Loukic had earlier constructed a break of 67 and three other notable efforts while Aditya made breaks of 75 and an unfinished run of 59 as Gladiators had defeated Catholic Gymkhana ‘Rebels’ in both the matches in the opening round. Megh Shah was the third member of the team and did reasonably well in the four games.

Chembur Gym Gladiators having won all 4 games are now sitting pretty with 10 points, including 2 bonus points. Catholic Rebels and Bombay Gym Phantoms both have five points each and the outcome of their match in the third week will decide which of them joins Gladiators in the knockout round.

Meanwhile, Chembur Gymkhana’s second team CG ‘Titans’ had a dismal second week and lost both their matches against Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana’s JVPG ‘Strugglers’, in Section-D league.

Strugglers first won 783-721 in the away fixture and easily won the home tie by a fluent 714-620 points margin to collect a bonus point.
