Mumbai Police top the table


Skipper Shreekant Limbole led from the front with a cracking half century (52) with five sixes and three fours  to steer Mumbai Police Cityriders to a four-wicket win over Shivaji Park Warriors in their concluding tie in the  Mitsui Shoji T-20 League-Season-8 , played at Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground at Marine Lines   here today. The Cityriders thus top the table with four wins in the five-team league. While Bandra Heroes by virtue of their win over Thane Marathas today, finished second. Thane Marathas  together with Shivaji Park Warriors were the other teams to qualify for the Super League, to be played next week while the last year’s winner Ghatkopar Jets were eliminated.

After putting them to bat, the Police Cityriders,   restricted Warriors to 160 for seven. Chasing 162 for six , the Police outfit though lost their openers early, skipper Shreekant with Prasad Pawar steered them to a comfortable win with 3 overs to spare.

 

The highlight of Bandra Heroes win over Thane Marathas was the batting of Aakanshit Gomel (65) and Onkar Jadhav (58) as they took the Heroes past Thane Marathas score of 159 for nine with four wickets to spare
