Defending champions Ghatkopar Jets suffered double defeat today in the Mitsui Shoji T-20 League-Season-8 , played at Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground at Marine Lines here .. First they lost to Mumbai Police Cityriders by 45 runs in the morning and then later in the afternoon Shivaji Park Warriors virtually put them out for a place Super League with a emphatic 40 runs win. Thus the Jets finished with just a solitary win and three defeats in four outings and are virtually out of contention.
The Police Cityriders’ opener Mayur Sanap, who after his yesterday’s heroics, again played a major role with a cracking 61 with eight fours and two sixes as they ended up with 177 for three off 17 overs. Three overs were reduced due to delayed start. In reply, the Jets were restricted to 132. While in the second tie, the Jets struggled all the way before they could muster only 111 for nine, thus falling short by 40 runs to Shivaji Park Warriors’s score of 151 for eight.
