Kenisha,Neel are fastest swimmers


Kenisha Gupta and Neel Roy, both from  hosts Otters Dolphins, emerged the fastest in their respective 100 m free style women and men events in the 34th Otters Open Swimming and Diving Championships, held at their swimming pool at Bandra (West)  here today.

Kenisha was simply superb. She just left the field way behind to win the 100m free style in record-breaking -00:56.89 secs.  In fact, she domianted in the women’s 50m,100m free style and 200m individual medley as well.  Incidentally, in all these events the Otters Dolphin’s girl  bettered Khar Gymkhana’s star swimmer Aditi Dumatkar’s timings, set in 2013.

 

Likewise,  Neel Roy, took a quick start and never looked back, winning the 100m free style in 00:49.28 secs. thus bettering his own 2017 timing of 00:49.77 secs. While earlier on the first day,  Neel had eclipsed Ishaan Jaffer ‘s 2017 record of 01:56.30 secs by clocking 01:50.24 secs. in the 200m freestyle event.

 

The day also  saw new records set in the boys under-15 events. Armaan Sikka in boy s under-15 100m butterfly clocking 00:59.92 secs. and Srish Maulik, also from Otters bagged 100m breast gold with a new timing of 01:09.50secs. And Khar Gymkhana’s Kabir Khubchandani  won the 25m free style event in 00:126.34secs.

BOYS: U-15;  Srish Maulik (Otters)- 25 pts.  U-13: Ashwin Jaiswar (MLWB) – 34 pts. U-11: ArchitMorvekar (MLWB)- 34 pts. U-9: Fateh Singh (GSC) – 35 pts.  U-7: Dhariya Bhuta (Mat Gym) – 22 pts.

 

GIRLS: U-15;  Aanya Walia ((Otters) – 40 pts. U-13: Palak Joshi (Khar Gym) – 26 pts. U-11: Annanya Nayak (Ozone) – 33 pts. U-9: Tiara Singh (GSC) – 33 pts. U-7: Asnusha Gaonkar  (CSMSS) – 15 pts.
