The much awaited Mitsui Shoji T20 league kicks off at Mumbai Police Gymkhana from April 23 at 1 pm. Ex Srilanakan legends Chaminda Vaas and Rangana Hearth will be the chief guest of opening ceremony, this was disclosed by Mr Jwala Singh, the Director of MCC and chief organizer of the league at the press conference here.

Mr Jwala Singh further stated that the league continues to be sponsored by Mr Lal Bharwaney, of Mitsui Shoji, while Mr Satyabrata Satpati of MS Group have agreed to be the joint sponsors. .
This being the eighth edition of the league, more than 60 top junior and senior players along with few international cricketers will be part of this league. Players like Chaminda Vaas, Jehan Mubarak, Wasim Jaffer , Prithvi Shaw and Amol Muzumdar have been part of the earlier editions along with top youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal ,Shivam Dube Jay Bista, , Arman Jaffer, Shashank Singh.
During the league some of the top players of the league will get chance to get trained by Chaminda Vaas, Ranaga Hearath and Wasin Jaffer underour “ Centre Of Excellence”. program.
There will be 5 teams , viz. Bandra Heroes, Thane Marathas, Ghatkoper Jets ,Mumbai Police cityriders and Shivaji Park Worriers.. All these teams will be in mentored by first class players .
This year each team will play each other and the top four teams will qualify for Super League round, followed by top two teams going into the title round.. The total prize money of league is approx. two lakhs. The final match will be played at Mumbai Police Gymkhana on May 13 under flood lights.
