Ankit,Amit sail into pre-quarters


Ankit Thakkar of Matunga Gymkhana (-150 handicap) and Amit Sapru of Park Club (-170 handicap) both produced some steady performances to win their respective Round of 32 matches in the Maharashtra Challenger Tour (Billiards 2019) organized by the Billiards and Snooker Association of Maharashtra.

Ankit was in complete control as he raced past Garware Club House player Karan Gandhi (-50) 200-151, while Amit played consistently to sideline Khar Gymkhana’s Manoj Kasare (-90) by a convincing 200-152 points margin. Both Ankit and Amit will clash in the next round.

 

Meanwhile, top seed Sparsh Pherwani (-225) breezed past Thane’s Mithil Shinde (-40) coasting to a comfortable 200-167 victory, while second seed Hasan Badami of Cricket Club of India (-190) proved too good for Hindu Gymkhana’s Shayam Kotak (-80) by posting an easy 200-132 points win to also progress to pre-quarter-finals.
