Dilip Sampat Memorial inter-school table tennis tournament
Khushi Pawar from Dahisar’s Poorna Prajna school bagged the junior and sub-junior girls singles titles in the JLTTA- sponsored All India Balkan-Ji-Bari Dilip Sampat Memorial inter-school table tennis tournament, here today.

What was more noteworthy was the fact that Khushi, who defeated her teammate Bhoomi Pitale (11-6, 6-11, 12-10, 9-11, 16-14) in the junior girls final, repeated her domination with 11-4, 11-4, 8-11, 9-11, 11-7 in the su b–junior finals as well. And to top it all, Kushi also steered her school to 3-1 win over St. Gregorious in the girls team championships final.Both Khushi and Bhoomi are coached by Ashish Patankar, who deserves a special mention.

Not so lucky was Chaitnya Ahuja, from Aditya Birla, who too like Kushi , figured in both the junior and sub-junior boys finals, but had to rest contend with the junior boys title only as Sagar Kasture, whom he beat 11-7, 11-7, 8-11, 11-5 in the junior finals, turned the tables on him, winning the sub-junior final (12-10, 11-8, 9-11, 11-9). And Sagar Kasture also put up fine show, while helping his school (BMC) to 3-0 win over Aditya Birla school in the boys team final.
Jagjeet Singh Gill bags maiden title
In the midget boys’ singles Jagjeet Singh Gill won his maiden title beating Vivaan Thakur in three straight games in the final. Interestingly Jagjeet had lost to Vivaan in his last three encounters, once in finals and twice in semis. But, this time by winning this title, Jagjeet has offered the best gift to his father cum Coach Gurcharan Singh Gill.
