Tiny Anshita Tamhankar showed her fighting spirit, as she rallied from brink to get the better of Mugdha Desai 9-11, 11-13, 12-10, 11-9. 11-8 to storm into the cadet girls singles final of the JLTTA sponsored All India Balkan-Ji-Bari Dilip Sampat Memorial inter-school table tennis tournament, here today. Anshita next takes on Prisha Shah who made short work of Ayesha Dhorwala, winning the tie 11-5, 11-8, 11-6.
Fancied Khooshi Pawar and Chaitanya Ahuja are both set for a double each in their respective junior and sub-junior singles . Khooshi , having beaten earlier Pahel Shah 10-12, 11-8, 11-7, 11-7 in the sub-junior event, beat Anshika Chokani 17-15, 10-12, 11-9, 12-10 in the juniors singles semifinals.
In the boys section, Chaitanya Ahuja was most impressive, in both sub-junior and junior singles. In sub-junior event, he beat Diyaan Shah 11-7, 11-6, 11-9, while in the junior singles, he had to fight all the way before overpowering Om Chopade 11-6, 7-11, 11-7, 2-11, 11-8. Incidentally, he faces Sagar Kasture in both finals.
