Rudra Football Academy dished a solid fighting display and edged past We Care (Kopana) by a narrow 2-1 margin in a keenly contested Third Division final of the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2018-2019 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Sunday evening.

We Care started on a promising note and against the run of play took the lead through Arun Pawar’s strike in the 28th minute.
But, Rudra FA came roaring back and scored the equalizer through Siddharth Kamble in the final minute of the first session to go into the break on level terms.
On resumption the Rudra outfit continued to put pressure on the rival citadel and in the very third managed they managed to score the second goal through Surendra Shingte to take the lead.
Thereafter, they defended resolutely till the final whistle to emerge champions.
Earlier in the Third place match, Anushakti Nagar SC defeated Charkop FC 5-2.
