Baze FC and I.C. United SC stormed into the Women’s semi-finals of the Bandra Gymkhana Annual Floodlit Rink Football Tournament 2019, organized under the auspices of the MDFA and played under floodlights at the DPRC grounds, Bandra.
In the first quarter-final, Baze FC outplayed Bandra Packers (Red) coasting to a4-1 victory. Striker Akanksha Kandalkar struck a brace of goals while Janhvi Shetty and Shimona Saldanha chipped in with one apiece to complete Baze’s winning tally. Radhika Gangegar scored Packers lone goal.
In the second match, I.C. United blanked M. Stars 2-0 with Priyanka Sutaria and Angeline Anthony netting one goal apiece to seal the win and a meeting with Baze FC in the last four round.
Meanwhile in Men’s Open third round matches, Autonomous SC got the better of Futur Stars by a fighting 2-1 margin. Strikers Jason Miranda and Akshay Chavan were on target for Autonomous, while Aniket Aanchal scored for the losers.
Versova Village Boys scored an identical 2-1 win against Shalom United. For the Versova outfit Rajendra Yadav and Aniket Singh scored one goal each while Shalom United pulled one back through Siddhesh Naringrekar.

Men’s Open (pre-quarter-finals): Catalans SC 2 (Merrick Fernandes 2) beat Meghdoot SC 1 (Leander Dharmai); Autonomous SC 2 (Jason Miranda, Akshay Chavan) beat Future Stars 1 (Aniket Aanchal); Versova Village Boys 2 (Rajendra R. Yadav, Aniket Singh) beat Shalom United 1 (Siddhesh Naringrekar).
Veterans Men: Ronnie-7 SC 4 (Glen Moraes 3, Melwin Vaz) beat Spartans SC 1 (Agnello D’Silva).
