Chheda Nagar Football Fanatics (CNFF) struck good form and romped to a narrow 3-2 win against Steadfast SC in an exciting and well-contested First Division play-off match of the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2018-2019 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra.
Steadfast grabbed the advantage when Zeeyan Narvekar hit the target in the first half. But, Chheda Nagar fought back and scored three goals in the second half to take charge. Ian Fialho. Kushal Suvarna and Pranit Gaikwad scored for Chheda Nagar before Suraj Ganekar scored Steadfast second goal late in the game.
Meanwhile, Kenkre FC got the better of Mumbai Strikers 2-1 in an Elite Division match. Jayesh Kadam and Rohan Shukla were on target for Kenkre, while Nazeef K. netted Strikers lone goal.
