Saffan Qureshi put up superb allround show to help JSF (Jwala Sports Foundation) pip MCC (Red) to make the title round of the four-team MCC Two-Day League, played at Oval Maidan here today. It was the first innings 43 runs lead that brought JSF on par with the “Red” on points basis. However, JSF’s better run-rate ensured them entry into the final. They take on table-topper MCC (Blue) in the final to be played later this week.
Saffan, made 49 as JSF were all out for 210 in the first innings and 55 runs in JSF’s second innings score of 168. He then shared spoils alongwith Ashry Patil (3/26) and Ayaz Khan (2/27) to dismiss MCC (Red) for 167 in the first innings. However, fancied “Red” survived some anxious moments before ending with 42 for three at stumps.. Saffan captured two wickets apiece in each of the innings.
