The Top-seeded partnership of Aditya Mehta and Dhvaj Haria, both playing with scratch handicaps, outsmarted the team of Gaurav Jaisinghani (+10) and Luv Boricha (+30) as they marched to a 3-1 victory in a pre-quarter-final match of the Khar Gymkhana Snooker Shootout 2019, sponsored by Rustomjee Builders and played at Khar Gymkhana’s Yasin Merchant Snooker Room.

Earlier, in a second round encounter, the formidable second-seeded team of Yasin Merchant. scratch handicap and Ishpreet Singh Chadha also scratch handicap, encountered quite a stiff challenge from the Surat combination of Niraj Vasava (+20) and Vismay Gadhiya (+30) but managed to snatch a tight 3-2 win to progress to the pre-quarters.
Meanwhile the mixed team of Faisal Khan (SCR) of Railways and Monu Choudhari (SCR) of Delhi were both on a roll and scored back to back victories enroute to the last round of eight. First, Faisal and Monu blanked the Panvel pairing of Raj Shetye (+30) and Vaibhav Waingade (+30) 3-0 and later returned to the tables and quashed the aspirations of challengers Nabil Lakdawala (+10) and Abhimanyu Gandhi (+10) coasting to another quick 3-0 victory and smoothly sail into the last eight.

In two other hard-fought last 16 encounters, the Park Club team of Vishal Gehani (+20) and Ameya Sankhala (+30) got the better of the Khar Gymkhana pair of Nikhil Saigal (+15) and Rebanta Sehijwani (+25) 3-2; while the Corner Pocket team of Hasan Badami (SCR) and Mukund Bharadiya (SCR) enjoyed a good partnership and beat Vishal Vaya (+10) and Pratyush Samayajula (+20) 3-2.
