Aryan Citroda batted with aplomb as he hit a fine century (130) with 16 fours and a six as MCC (Red) took the first innings point against Bhosale Cricket Academy in the opening tie of the inaugural four-team MCC Two-Day League, played at Dadar Parsee Zorastrian ground at Matunga. The league is being played without any restriction of overs.
Put into bat, MCC(Red) did well to hit up 297 runs off 76.2 overs before they were all out. Aryan Chitroda top-scored with 130. Other major contributions came from Tanmay Buran (66) and Aneesh Kapil (35). For Bhosale Academy, Harshal Jadhav (4/84) and Nishant Nisarkar (2/71) shared the spoils. In reply, Bhosale CA were bowled out 192 in 39 overs. Taking advantage of new format of this league, wherin a team trailing by 100 runs can be asked to bat again. MCC (Red) thus enforced follow-on. However, Bhosale CA fought back and were 122 for four when it was call time.
