Tarun Sporting hold Customs goalless

Mumbai Customs and Tarun Sporting were engaged in a keen tussle for supremacy, but both team failed to hit the target and settled for a goalless draw in a Group-A league match of the 2nd Late Shri Vishwanath Anchan Memorial Veterans’ Football Tournament 2019, organized and hosted by the Karnatak Sporting Association at the Karnatak SA ground, Cross Maidan on Tuesday,

 

Tarun Sporting had also drawn goalless with defending champions Air India in their previous match. The outcome of the final group match between Air India and Customs on Thursday will decide which team advances to the semi-finals.

 

Earlier, Ordnance Factory, Ambernath and Rudra Football Axademy shared the spoils as they played out a 1-all draw in an exciting Group-D league match. Nobert Rodrigues was on target for the Ambernath side while Vishal Naiir scored for Rudra and both teams shared two points. Karnatak SA, the third team in the group had defeated Ordnance Factory 3-1 on Monday.

 

In the first match of the day, Central Railway were locked in a goalless stalemate with Tiger Foundation in a Group-C encounter.

 

Results – Group A: Mumbai Customs 0 drew with Tarun Sporting 0.

 

Group-C: Central Railway 0 drew with Tiger Foundation 0.

 

Group-D: Rudra Football Academy 1 (Vishal Nair) drew with Ordnance Factory, Ambernath 1 (Nobert Rodrigues).
