National Veterans’ table tennis Championship will be held in Indore at the huge Abhay Prashal Indoor Stadium between 12th and 17th February 2019. The hosts are making all the preparations to welcome a large number of participants from different parts of the country, who will be taking part in different age groups above 40+ in men and women events. It may be recalled that last year the National Veterans’ Championship held in Jaipur had witnessed overwhelming response with 1200 competitors from all over India.
Now, for the forthcoming Indore Nationals there will be maximum participation from the state of Maharashtra. This was confirmed by Maharashtra Veterans Table Tennis Committee Hon. Secretary Mr. Suhas Dandekar. “This year besides announcing the teams for men and Women in different age groups above 40+, we have sent a total of 209 entries (166 men and 43 women) from Maharashtra for the individual events, which is a new record. This also proves the rising popularity of this game among seniors.” Mr. Dandekar also thanked his associates like Rajendra Bhoboo , kamlakar Vichare, Shekhar Varadkar , Sameer Bhate , Ms. Pathak and others for working tirelessly for the past few days in the administrative work.
Last year Maharashtra players had performed very well bagging many medals in team as well as individual events. In some of the events it was all Maharashtra clash in the finals and therefore this year too there are big hopes from them. Magzmumbai wishes them all the best.
