Favourites Tia D’Souza and Yash Dalvi scored contrasting wins in their respective junior girls and boys singles finals in the MSDTTA-backed Poinsur Gymkhana promotional schools table tennis tournament, held under their ‘Uttar Mumbai Krish Mahotsav’ held at Poinsur Gymkhana here today. Tia defeated Arya Ghag 11-7, 12-10, 11-7 in the junior girls final, but had to endure defeat at the hands of Divya Keni 10-12, 7-11, 10-12 in the sub-junior girls final.

While in the boys section, Yash Dalvi leading 2-1, was given a fright by Yuvraj Yadav before Yash triumphed at 17-15, 8-11, 11-7, 3-11,11-6. And in the sub-junior boys Krish Shetty had to bring out his best to quell the challenge of Harshavardhan Datye 9-11, 11-9, 11-3, 12-14, 11-8. Similar was the case in the boys sub-junior section with Krish Shetty was taken to the wire by Harshvardhan Date before he prevailed.
