Mumbai youngster Kreishh Gurbaxani regained his lost form and touch and breezed past Tahaa Khan of Pune 3-0 in the best-of-5-frame Group-G round-robin league match of the Maharashtra State Senior Snooker & Billiards Selection (leg-1) Championship 2018 and played at the Deccan Gymkhana on Tuesday.

Kreishh Gurbaxani of Khar Gymkhana regained his form and went onto defeat Tahaa Khan of Pune 3-0 in a best-of-5-frame Group-G round-robin league match of the Senior Snooker event of the Maharashtra State Senior Snooker & Billiards Selection (leg-1) Championship
The 16-year-old Khar Gymkhana cueist Gurbaxani, who had lost 0-3 to city mate Abhishek Bajaj in the opening match on Monday, was in total control and did well to pull off the win in three closely contested frames at 59-22, 59-50 and 59-53 to record his first win.
Sparsh Pherwani, another young cueist from Mumbai, also began on the right track as he smoothly sailed past Aakash Padilkar (Pune) 3-1 (69-33, 74-26, 33-68, 71-36) in a Group-F encounter.
Anand Raghuvanshi and Abhimanyu Gandhi, both from Mumbai made bright positive starts, comfortably winning the opening group matches. In a Group-C match, Raghuvanshi tamed Rohan Kothare of Aurangabad 3-0 (73-46, 69-15, 65-51) and Gandhi prevailed over Gaurav Patange of Pune 3-1 (56-46, 53-21, 21-50, 73-34) in a Group-H tie.

Abhimanyu Gandhi of Otters Club prevailed over Gaurav Patange of Pune 3-1 in a Group-H round-robin league match of the Senior Snooker event of the Maharashtra State Senior Snooker & Billiards Selection (leg-1) Championship 2018.
Meanwhile, Suraj Rathi from Pune produced a determined fighting performance to snatch a close 3-2 win against Luv Boricha of Mumbai in a Group-F match.
The Pune cueist Rathi grabbed the early advantage by winning the first two frames to take a healthy 2-0 lead. But, the Mumbai player Boricha fought back to take the third and then narrowly won the fourth to level the frame scores at 2-all. In the decider Rathi once again potted steadily and smoothly went on to win the fifth frame to script a 79-23, 66-52, 10-51, 42-49 and 66-20 victory and make a winning start.
In a Group-B encounter, Shivam Arora also from Pune enjoyed a good roll of the balls and quite comfortably defeated Siddhesh Mulay of Chiplun by a 3-1 margin at the Poona Club. Arora held his nerves to win a tight opening frame, but was in complete control in winning the second to open up a 2-0 lead. But, Mulay managed to find form and halted Arora’s charge to victory by winning the third to bridge the gap. But, Mulay could not sustain the winning form and prevent Arora from easily pocketing the fourth to complete a 58-53, 63-14, 50-60 and 71-29 victory.
