Pune City,MSSA romp to victories


 

FC Pune City and MSSA (Mumbai Schools Sports Association) comfortably won their Group-A league matches of the 2nd WIFA Youth Boys (U-14) Championship 2018-19 and played at the Cooperage ground.

The Pune youngsters rode on Dinesh Singh’s twin strikes to tame Rahul FA, Nagpur 4-0. Dinesh’s teammates Mohd. Mansuri and  Kunvarpal S. added one goal apiece to round off the winning tally.

 

MSSA were well-served by Ahmed Khan who netted a brace of goals and romped to a 3-0 win against Yodha FC, Solapur, Shirish Pote netted the third goal for the winners.

 

In Group-B matches,  Kenkre FC, Mumbai thumped Star FC, Solapur 16-0 and KMP XI blanked DDYS, Nagpur 8-0.

 

FC Pune City and MSSA qualified for the semi-finals from Group-A while KMP XI and Kenkre FC qualify from Group-B.

 

Results – Group A: MSSA, Mumbai 3-0 (Ahmed Khan 2, Shirish Pote) beat Yodha FC, Solapur 0.

 

FC Pune City, Pune 4 (Dinesh Singh 2, Mohd. Mansuri, Kunvarpal S.) beat Rahul FA, Nagpur 0.

 

Group B: Kenkre FC, Mumbai 16 (Dexter Fernandes 9, Nathan Braganza 3, Raul Almeida 2, Sahil Shinde, Zubair Karbhari) beat Star FC, Solapur 0.

 

KMP XI 8 (Mustafa Shaikh 4, Ravi Rathod 2, Vikram Rathod, Samuel Selvadas) beat DDYS, Nagpur 0.
