Stuti Gala exhibited tremendous fighting qualities and plenty of determination as she recovered from the loss of the opening game to overcome Siddhi Ghuge in three gruelling games, clinching a 12-15, 15-14, 15-14 victory in the Girls’ under-15 singles first round match of the CCI-Greater Mumbai District Badminton Championship 2018, jointly organized by the Cricket Club of India (CCI) and the Greater Mumbai Badminton Association (GBMA), and played at the CCI courts, on Sunday.
Pranav Kamble defeated Sahil Gaikwad 15-6, 15-9 in a boys’ under-15 singles first round match of the CCI-Greater Mumbai District Badminton Championship 2018 at the CCI courts on Sunday.
In contrast, Himangi Parekh did not have to exert too much as she easily defeated Sharvari Sarang 15-3, 15-3 with plenty to spare. Dia Parasrampuria also enjoyed quite an easy outing as she tamed Anaya Nagarkar 15-5, 15-3 in another first round encounter.
In Boys’ under-15 singles action, Rudra Patel worked hard to put it across Aryan Patel, winning at 15-11, 15-12 and Pranav Kamble played aggressively to sideline Sahil Gaikwad, coasting to 15-6, 15-9 victory.
Meanwhile in an interesting Boy’s under-10 singles first round match, Hrishikesh Vishwanathan held his nerves to prevail over Aditya Singh 15-4, 12-15, 15-5.
