SPG T-20 Cricket Tournament
Aman Khan’s century (103 runs off 47 balls) helped Dr. D.Y.Patil SA to win against the defending champion Natioanal CC by 29 runs in the quarter final match of SPG-LIC T-20 cricket tournament in the loving memory of our two stalwart cricketers Late Vijay Manjarekar & Late Ramakant Desai, organised by Shivaji Park Gymkhana. In the second quarter final match Payyade CC beat Sind SC by 14 runs.
It may be recalled that Shivaji Park Gymkhana was established in 1909 and is registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. SPG Star Galaxy consists of late Vijay Manjrekar, Subhash Gupte, Madhavrao Apte, Manohar Hardikar, late Ramakant Desai, Arvindrao Apte, Balkrishna Gupte, Ajit Wadekar, Ramneshchandra Nadkarni, Ajit Pai, Pravin Amre and many others having tremendous cricketing abilities such as batting, bowling and fielding. They left a lasting imprint on Indian cricket in their era and some of them still continue to do so.
