Orlem Super Cup:
Striker Suraj Bhagat played a stellar role scoring two goals in leading St. Anthony’s Parish, Malwani to a fluent 3-0 win against Holy Cross Parish, Juhu in a first round match of the Dhoot Developers sponsored 5th All-Mumbai Inter-Parish football tournament for the ‘Orlem Super Cup’, organised by the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Orlem and at the Church grounds. Jatin Koli chipped in with the third goal to round off St. Anthony’s winning tally.
In another match, St. Joseph’s Parish ‘B’, Mira Road defeated St. St. Joseph’s Parish, Juhu by a narrow 1-0 margin. The hero of the Mira Road team’s victory was Ajay Singh who netted the crucial winner.
In other matches, Immaculate Conception Parish, Borivali prevailed over Our Lady of Health Parish, Versova 3-2 via the tie-breaker after the scores were locked goalless at full-time. St. Chavara Parish, Kandivili also got the better of Our Lady of the Sea Parish, Madh Island 3-2 via the penalty shootout after regulation time failed to produce a goal.
