Yashasvi shines as MCC (Red) retain MCC Pro-40 title


 

Lanky allrounder Yashasvi Jaiswal turned out to be star as defending champions MCC (Red) defeated MCC (Blue)  by 100 runs to win the  B4S (Brain-4-Sports)- MCC Pro-40   trophy, played at Oval Maidan here today.

Yashasvi, bowling leg spinners captured three wickets in five overs while conceding just 13 runs as MCC (Blue) were bowled out for 96 in reply to MCC (Red)’s score of 196. Yashasvi was well supported by Sujit Kanojia (2/13, and Shoeb Shaikh (2/3).

 

Batting first, MCC (Red) batsmen did well to score 196 on a dusty Oval maidan pitch with Dhiraj Solanki emerging being their top scorer with gritty 46. Anuraj Yadav (34) and  Jitendra Paliwal (31) too made substantial contributions.
