Karnatak SA rally to hold UBI


A resilient Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) recovered well to force a 3-3 draw with Union Bank of India ( UBI)in an exciting Elite Division match of the MDFA League 2017-2018, and played at the Cooperage ground on Sunday.

Union Bank started promisingly and took the lead through Ranjeet Pandre in the 21st minute to take the lead, but Union Bank replied strongly to score the equaliser through Nascimanto Santiago in the 31st minute as the scores were tied at 1-1 at half time. Ten minutes in to the second half Union Bank’s Shanon Pereira scored the second goal before Scott D’Souza struck the third to increase the lead to 3-1 in the 62nd minute. But KSA fought back and struck two quick goals through Tarique Ansari in the 65th minute and Santiago, who got his second, in teh 70th minute to snatch a draw.

In the next round, Central Bank of India will clash with Century Rayon on Wednesday, October 11 at 3.45 pm.

Union Bank of India 3 (Ranjeet Pandre 21st, Shanon Pereira 55th, Scott D’Souza 62nd) drew with Karnatak Sporting Association (Nascimanto Santiago 31st, 70th, Tarique Ansari 65th).
