Pranali Chavan and Karen Pais, both notched up fine hat-tricks in leading Poddar International SC, Kolhapur and Bodyline FC respectively to emphatic victories in Group-A league matches of the WIFA Women’s Football Championship, which is being conducted as part of the FIFA-AIFF State Development Project, at the Cooperage ground, on Saturday.

The dashing striker Pranali fired home the first three goals (15th, 24th and 47th minutes) as Poddar International tamed Rahul Football Academy by a comfortable 5-0 margin. Yashshree Deshmukh added the fourth in the 54th minute before Aditi Patil struck the fifth in the final minute of the 60-minute encounter.
Earlier, Karen Pais, a former junior Indian striker showed her class with some clinical finishing. She got down to business almost immediately scoring Bodyline’s opening goal in very fourth minute, which open the floodgates. She struck two more goals in the 19th and 35th minutes to complete her hat-trick. Karen’s partner upfront Reetika Sahani got a brace of goals (17th & 42nd minutes), while Kimberly Fernandes (22nd minute) and Juhi Shah (57th minute) complete the scoring tally.
