For the past three years Guru Parte a former TT player and Coach has been running his Table tennis Coaching academy at Maharashtra Labour Welfare Board- kamgar Kalyan Bhavan premises at Elphinstone Road, Mumbai. Guru has been allotted separate space on the top floor of the MLWB-KKB premises, which houses six tables, with more than hundred players taking advantage of this training facility.

In the recently concluded Mumbai City District Inter Club Table Tennis League, Guru’s Academy had fielded three teams in Women’s first division, One in Men’s First division and one in men’s third division, under the auspices of MLWB-KKB. And all these five teams did very well to win medals.
The three Women’s teams dominated the first division, winning all the three top positions in the League table securing Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively. The members of these three teams were, Shweta Parte,Mrunmayee Mhatre, Ashlesha Trehan, Pradnya Kishore & Shravani Dhapre( Gold); Nimisha Warang, Misbah Sumar, Shifa Ahmed, Ayesha Kothari & Tavisha Singhania( Silver) ; Dr. Anagha Joshi, Ruchira manerkar,Ritu Mukadam, Jyoti Pednekar & Sunanda Rao( Bronze) .

Their team led by Gaurav Parte won the Bronze medal in Men’s 1st Division with the support of other players like young Dev Shroff, experienced Rajesh Singh, Rajesh Mudam & Nitin Gavande. The Academy’s senior players who are involved in coaching and in advisory capacity also managed to bag another Gold for the academy in the third division of men’s league. The names of these players are, Ravi Gulgule, Nitin Dolas, Nitin Walawalkar, Kamlakar Vichare & Dilip Aadhav.
Today evening Guru Parte had organised felicitation of all these medal winners in the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Satish Dabhade, MLWB, Welfare Commissioner and guest of honour Mr. Anant Shetye, Secretary Sachivalaya Gymkhana& Sr. Officer Revenue Department, Mantralaya. Also present were MLWB Dy. Commissioners Mr. Rathod and Mr. Lohakare. Mr. Dabhade and Mr. Rathod were all praise for the progress of the academy and appealed to well wishers to offer help to the academy. They themselves promised all the support with better facilities. The Academy already has national level players like Shweta Parte, Ashlesha Trehan, Gaurav Parte , Dev Shroff ,Mrunmayee Mhatre, Ruchira Manerkar, Nimisha Warang, Dr.Anagha Joshi, Misbah Sumar and others.
Reacting after the function Guruprasad Parte only wished that the young brigade of his academy would surely play for India in next few years. “We have dedicated Coaches who are available daily basis and many more have voluntarily agreed to offer training to the newcomers in the academy. On this occasion, the Commissioner Mr. Dabhade also inaugurated the newly purchased Robot, to offer advanced practice to the players from his academy.
