Sushrut Kapse and Safwan Shaikh, both from Glenmark Aquatic Foundation, emerged best in their respective boys under-17 and under-14 sections, while Kenisha Gupta (under-14) and Palak Dhami (Under-12) took the honours in their respective categories in the GAF-GMAAA age group swimming championships, held at Tata Swimming Pool, at Chembur, on Sunday. Overall 17 new meet records were established with girls outperforming boys by capturing 13 of them.

Ironically,Dhananyush Raninga of Goregaon Sports Club, got the maximum points (35), having won all the five events, but he was pipped at the top spot by Sushrut, who aggregated 28 points by virtue of the latter winning all the four events with two new meet record-breaking efforts.
Likewise, Otters Club’s Kenisha Gupta (35 pts) made a clean sweep by winning all the five golds at stake in the girls under-14 section – all by re-writing the old marks in 50m butterfly, 200m breast stroke and 100m free style gold today. Earlier, she had won 50m free style and 200m individual medley events. While Palak Dhami broke four meet records, while winning all the four events that she took part in th girls under-12 category..

BOYS: (Group I): Sushrut Kapse (GAF) – 28 pts (4 golds with 2 new meet records). (Group II): Safwan Shaikh GAF) – 33 pts (4G+1S+1B). (Group III):Ronak Sawant (GAF) – 26 pts (3G+1S). (Group IV): Viiaan Thakur (Khar Gym) and Armaan Jetha (Otters) bogytdh joint winners with 28 pts each.
