Mumbai District FA carved out a hard-fought win against Kolhapur District FA in a closely fought uarter-final match of the Maharashtra State Inter-District Football Championship played at the PDFA ground, Pune on Friday evening.
In a match between two evenly matched sides, the Mumbai outfit managed to break the deadlock in the second half when Kamran Ansari successfully converted from the penalty spot Kolhapur’s Aniket Joshi was pulled up for rough play was shown the red card.
In another match, Nagpur DFA overcame Latur DFA by a narrow 2-1 margin. Swapnil Neware and Yash Shukla were on target for the Nagpur side, while Latur pulled one back through Wanele Ansari.
