Mumbai Suburbs upset City but lose to Kolhapur in final


Mumbai Suburban girls   put up terrific show before going down to hosts Kolhapur 19-25, 17-25. in a thrilling  women’s final of the Maharashtra State level volleyball tournament, organized by Balveer SC, Nippani at Kolhapur on Sunday.

Mumbai  Suburban girls , however, on their way to the final, convincingly defeated Nashik 2-0 (25-9, 25-15), Wardha 2-0 (25-18, 25-24)  in the quarters before they turned the tables  on fancied Mumbai City  3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-18) in the semifinals.

 

In the final against  against hosts Kolhapur, the suburban girls put up plucky. Their captain Aamrin Shaikh, Tarini More and lanky  Siddhi Kolekar made fine impression for the Mumbai Suburban team.
