Dominic Savio from Andheri got the better of Cambridge from Kandivali 6-5 via the tie-breaker in the boys under-14 final of the Poinsur Gymkhana’s suburban inter-school football tournament, under their Uttar Mumbai Krida Mahotsav Sports Fiesta, played at their ground at Kandivali, here today.

In a fast paced encounter, Dominic Savio did have upper hand in the first half especially, as their forwards made inroads good number of times, but they were baulked by the solid defence of the Cambridge boys. After both the teams failed to break the deadlock in the regulation time, the tie was resolved via tie-breaker, resulting in Dominic Savio boys prevailing 6-5.
In the boys under-16 semifinals, St. Lawrence sprang a surprise as they eliminated fancied St. Francis D’Assisi 2-0 with goals coming through Aditya Chawande and Rohit Rawat. They take on St. Xaviers, a 1-0 winner over Rustomjee (Dahisar) in the other semifinals..
