Blitzkrieg SC romped to a narrow 1-0 victory against Steadfast FC in a First Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2016-2017, and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Friday evening.
In an evenly contested encounter, Prabhakar Natkar fired Blitzkrieg in front with a clinical strike in the 26th minute. Thereafter, Blitzkrieg defended resolutely and managed to hang on to their advantage to emerge victors and pocket the full three points.
Earlier, Xavier’s Boys SC failed to turn up for their match against Shastri Nagar in the Second Division league. Shastri Nagar will be awarded a walkover and stand to earn three points and three goals.
Meanwhile in a Second Division encounter, Miners SC got the better of Shree Om Shakti Murugan by an identical 1-0 margin. Jtoseph D’Cruz struck the lone winner to seal Miners win.
