The opening Elite Division fixture started on a promising note as both teams tried to assert their dominance. But, despite creating quite a number of chances the forwards from both the sides were unable to find the back of the net and the first session ended in a goalless stalemate.

The trend of play and missed opportunities continued after the change of ends, before Edewele broke the deadlock with a fine headed goal. Following a counter attack KSA’s midfielder Paintal Saine chipped the ball into the Union Bank area and Edewele did well to leap high and firmly head past Union Bank’s goalkeeper Ismail Surve in the 81st minute.

KSA defended their lead in the remaining period to troop out winners and collect all the three points.

Meanwhile, Bombay Muslims SC riding on Rushikesh Koli’s barce of goals blanked Fr. Agnel SC 3-0. Akash Dalvi netted the other goal for the victors.
