11even Sports National Ranking (West Zone) Table Tennis Championships,Rajkot
State girls’ Srushti Haleangadi, Manasi Chiplunkar, Shreya Deshpande and Diya Chitale, all came through unscathed from their respective groups to qualify for the junior girls’ singles main draw in the 11even Sports National Ranking (West Zone) Table Tennis Championships conducted by the Gujarat State Table Tennis Association at Rajkot Municipal Corporation ‘Veer Savarkar’ Indoor Stadium, Rajkot, Gujarat.
The Maharashtra paddler Srushti was on a roll by convincingly winning both her matches in Group-2. She first defeated De Sataporni of North Bengal 3-0 and later beat Fatema Kadri of Gujarat by a same 3-0 scoreline. Manasi also had an easy time scoring a 3-1 win over Pallabi Roy of North Bengal and was later a fluent 3-0 winner against Hetvi Raval of Gujarat in Group-12.
Shreya faced quite a challenge in her first match against Puja Paul of North Bengal before winning 3-2 in Group-14. In the second match she was in total command as she blanked Fagun Bhatt of Gujarat 3-0 to finish first in the group.
Meanwhile, Diya who was drawn in the 4-player Group-16, started with a 3-1 win against Haryana’s Anjali Rohila and then accounted for Gujarat’s Aarushi Nandwani by an identical 3-1 margin. In the third match, Diya was taken the distance before prevailing over Tamil Nadu’s Sureshkumar Kokila 3-2.
