Sahil Kondancha and Jasy Gandhi for SVKM J.V.Parekh international (Vile Parle) and Siddharth Kondkar for Narsee Monjee Bhavan (Vile Parle) recorded hat-tricks as their teams scored thumping wins over their respective opponents in the under-14  DSO’s (Divisional Sports Office)’s Mumbai Suburban (Taluka) Football tournament, organised and sponsored by Vision Sports Reconnect and Fairplay Sports Management at St. Francis D’Assisi ground, Borivali, here today. The next round of the matches will be played on Monday.

Jash, who had scored four goals in an earlier round, was once again in his element as he notched up four goals including a hat-trick and to add further embarrassment to their opponents S.D.Barfiwala, Sahil Kondancha, too, added a  hat-trick of goals in their thumping 8-0 win. Siddarth Konkar’s four goals (including a hat-trick) was the high point in Narsee Monjee Bhavan’s 5-0 win over St. Xavier’s (Vile Parle).

Another feature of the day’s matches was record set in tie-breaker between St. Anne’s HS/Jr College and Vibgyor (Goregaon). The tie played almost in pouring rains, saw both teams locked 0-0 at the regulation period and in the tie-breaker, St. Anne’s prevailed 11-10 – a record in tie-breaker ties so far in the competition.
