To Aaryan Bhosale of Forest Club goes the honour of creating new mark in the men’s 200m back stroke – the day’s only record breaking feat- on the opening day of the GAF-GMAAA senior and lower age group swimming meet, held at Tata Power Swimming Pool, Chembur, today.

Aaryan, who clocked 02:22.48 secs, thus eclipsed the 27 year’s old record of 02:24.63 secs set by Otters Club’s Gaurav Kapoor way back in the 1989. Incidentally Aaryan also won gold in the 400m Individual Medley. However, he fell short of old record as he timed 05:21.25 secs.
Khar Gymkhana’ National swimmer Monique Gandhi, too, ended with double gold, winning the 100m breast stroke as well as 200m free style.
