Ruthless-Tigers FC emerged worthy champions of the inaugural Borivali Premier Football League (BPFL), organized by the Borivali Sports Foundation, and played at the St. Francis D’Assisi Ground, Borivali (W). The fancied Tigers did not have things easy, but instead they had to strive hard before they managed to snatch a close 2-1 win against Challengers FC in a keenly contested and absorbing final witnessed by a goodly crowd.
Consistent scorer Agnelo Picardo, who bagged the ‘Golden Boot’ award, once again impressed and got the opening goal for Tigers before Ritesh Perambra added the second to secure the win. Bernard Lobo got the lone goal for Challengers.
Picardo was the leading goal-scorer with 15 goals in 9 matches. The ‘Player of the Tournament’ award was won by Umesh Perambra also of Ruthless-Tigers FC, while the ‘Best Goalkeeper’ award went to Rakesh Poojary of Challengers FC.
