Former National champion and India No. 7, Sanil Shetty, will shoulder the responsibility and look to inspire Kool Smashers to a winning start when they take on Blazing Bashers in the opening Group ‘B’ league match of the 2nd edition of the iProspect Mumbai Super League (MSL) Table Tennis Championships, organized by 11Even Sports and which gets underway at the NSCI from Thursday, July 7, 2016.

Sanil, had bagged the men’s silver medal in the recently concluded 11Even Sports National Ranking (North Zone) Table Tennis Championships in Chandigarh, late last month, and Kool Smashers are hoping he carries that form into this event, which would help boost the confidence of the other members of the team. Now, it remains to be seen how Ruchira Manerkar , Tanmay Rane and others support him .
Meanwhile, India No. 4, Madhurika Patkar holds the key to the success of MTC Royals, who launch their campaign against The Topspinners in a Group ‘A’ league match. Madhurika will be high on confidence as she had recently lifted the women’s singles crown in the North Zone event in Chandigarh. Madhurika will enjoy the backing of Noel Pinto and the duo would be mainstay of the MTC team, with support expected from veteran Prakash Kelkar.
An opening ceremony has been organized at 4.00 pm and the matches will commence from 4.30 pm.
