The annual MCDTTA Inter Club Table Tennis league, which was going on for the past two weeks, concluded on Thursday evening, at PJ Hindu Gymkhana, Mumbai, with the finals of Men’s & Women’s team matches . In the Women’s 2nd division team event, Garware ‘B’ emerged the winners with Hiya Doshi, Trisha Dalmia, Tia Harlaka & Pranaya Jain helping their team to achieve top position. MLWB-KKB ‘B’ team were placed in the second position.

However, in the first division Women’s team event , MLWB-KKB ‘A’ team represented by Shweta Parte, Mrunmayee Mhatre, Priti Mokashi and Shravani Dhapre managed to secure the top position .They were followed by Parsee Gymkhana, whom they defeated in the finals.
In the Men’s 4th division league, Central YMCA ‘B’ team comprising of Mrutyunjoy Choudhary, Purshottam Kanigini, Devesh Sharma, Aurangzeb Khan & Shanmukh Gangarao were declared the winners, with MLWB-KKB ‘D’ and CCI ‘C’ team declared 1st and 2nd Runners up respectively.
The third division Men’s team finals was a home affair for PJ Hindu Gymkhana(PJHG) , as their ‘E’ and ‘F’ team clashed into the finals, assuring them Winner’s trophy. Premjeet Nananavre, Rishi Kapadia & Aditya Shinde did well to overcome the resistance from their ‘F’ team. But, the First division title belonged to PJ.Hindu Gymkhana(PJHG) , when their team comprising of Mahendra Chiplunkar, Sanjay Nemlekar, Mudit Dani, Shubham Ambre & Parthav Kelkar scored a 3-2 narrow victory over well balanced MLWB-KKB ‘A’ team.

Zubin Taraporewala who played for Parsee Gymkhana and remained unbeaten in this first division Men’s league, was declared the best player of the tournament, while little Dev Shroff who played for MLWB-KKB ‘A’ team, received special mention and was also felicitated. Mr. Lovesh Kumar Jt.Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to few important winners. From the host Gymkhana side, Mr. Ramesh Panchamatia, President and Mr. Kamal Marfatia, Vice President, were also present on the dais, along with Mr. kamalesh Mehta, 8 Times national champion and Jt.Hon. Secretary of MCDTTA. While speaking on the occasion, Mr.Mehta disclosed that from next year onwards, the Association was planning to host the inter office and inter clun Table tennis league matches, sometime during January and February , in view of the rising temperature during the month of May .
