Top seeded Arthi Muniyan from Tamil Nadu will face third seeded Simran Kejriwal in the women’s singles final after both recorded contrasting wins over their respective opponents in the Yonex-Chembur Gymkhana All India women’s tennis tournament, hosted by Chembur Gymkhana here today.While Arthi had to fight hard before she prevailed over Nida Komal 6-4, 7-6(2), there was no such fight as such FOR Simran virtually steamrolled her opponent Abi Diana 6-2, 6-1.
However, Simran’s bid for a double received a setback as the top seed pair of Simram and Varunya Chandrasekhar were upset by Arthi Muniyan and Sai Avatntika5-3, 6-7 (20, 10-6. The winners will take on Tanasha Khandpur and Nida Kaml, the second seed, who brushed aside Kirfandeep Koptade and Harshita Ghugh 6-3, 6-3.
