Chinmay stars in Ghatkopar Jets’ win


Chinmay Sutar batted doggedly to steer defending champions Ghatkopar Jets’ past Thane Marathas by five wickets for  their third win in the Mitsui Shoji T-20 League, at the Police Gymkhana, here today.

Thane Marathas, batting first, could muster just 136 runs off 20 overs. The Jets bowlers, especially spinners were quite incisive as they kept the batsmen quiet. Prasad Patil was the main destroyer with three wickets for just 28 runs.  In reply, the Ghatkopar Jets’s top order batsmen chased the target with three overs to spare. Chinmay , who faced 43 balls for his well-made 50, had six fours and just one six. After the fall of his wicket, it was allrounder Pushparaj Chavan,who  took them home without any further hiccups.
