Spearheaded by lanky Kenisha Gupta’s haul of five golds, with four record-breaking efforts, the hosts Otters girls and boys put up splendid show by clinching the major honours in the girls under-15, under-13, under-11 as well in the boys under-11 and under-9 sections on the final day of the Otters Club’s 31st Open Swimming Championships, held at their pool, at Bandra on Sunday.

Their customary rivals, Khar Gymkhana had to settle for second best, as they topped in the men (Jason Smith), boys under-15 (Neel Roy) and girls under-9 (Renaa Jain) categories. The meet also saw 26 new records established with girls again claiming the major booty with 13 new record to their credit, while the boys/men names figures in just nine. While in the men’s section , Jason accounted for three of the four records – the other being Siddharth Sankhe of GAF (Glenmark Aquatic Foundation)- and the women’s section it was PSP’s Aarti Patil, who emerged best.

MEN: Jason Smith (Khar Gym) – 31 pts: 3G (3NMRs) + 2silver. WOMEN: Aarti Patil (PSP) – 34 pts: 2G+4S:
GIRLS: Under-15: Ariesa Mongia (Otters) – 27 pts -3G+2S. Under-13: Kenisha Gupta (Otters) – 35 pts – 5G (4NMRs). Under-11: Vedia Amin (Otters) – 31 Pts – 3G (2NMRs) +2S and Sanjiti Saha (Khar Gym) – 29 pts : 2G (2NMRs)+3S (1BMR). . Under-9: Renaa Jain (Khar Gym) – 19 pts -2G+1S. Under-7: Anannya Nayak (Ozone) – 28 pts -4G (3NMRs).
BOYS: Under-15: Neel Roy (Khar Gym) – 5G (4NMRs). Under-13: Aryan Bhosale (Forest Club) – 33 pts – 4G (2NMRs) +1S. Under-11: Arjuneer Gupta (Otters) – 31 pts – 3G+2S. Under-9: Armaan Jetha (Otters) – 24 pts -2G+2S. Under-7: Vivaan Sethi (GSC) – 26 pts -3G+1S.
