Rizvi Springfield champions again

Thanks to hard-hitting 134 (16×4, 7×6) by skipper Shoeb Siddique and incisive bowling by leftarm spinner Nobil Aneez (5/53),  defending champions thrashed Swami Vivekanand by 189 runs in the final of the  B.Kichadia-Khar Gymkhana Suburban schools cricket tournament, held at Khar Gymkhana here today. Thus Rizvi continued to dominate the suburban schools cricket for over a decade, even they themselves don’t remember the number of times they have been winning the B.Khichadia trophy..

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Rizvi top order batted aggressively and hit up 357 off 45 overs with Shoeb together first with Akshay Yadav (30) and then with Shubham Verma (51) took Rizvi to past 350 mark. In  reply, Swami Vivekanand put up poor show as at no stage of their innings their batsmen showed any urgency to go for win. After they lost four  wickets for 30 odd runs, the only saving grace of their innings was Darshan Bonkar (39) and Rahul Kesari’s sedate knock of 57.
