Boxers Football Academy lads packed quite a punch and went on to blank Rudra Football Academy 2-0 in a Third Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016 and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Wednesday.
The Boxers outfit went on the offensive from the outset and took the lead in the very fifth minute through Jayesh Shirke before Allan Singdon added the second 10 minutes later.
Earlier in a lop-sided contested Miracles SC registered a thumping 8-0 victory against a heavily depleted RCF Youth Council, who could manage to field only eight players. Striker Noel Mendonca helped himself to three goals to complete a hat-trick while teammates Aman Shaikh, Ashley Fernandes, Tony D’Souza, Melvin Fernandes and Roydon Dias, all contributed one goal apiece to complete the huge win.
