The Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) and Western India Football Association (WIFA) will hold a condolence meeting to mourn the sad demise of Mr. Amar Bahadur, a former India, Maharashtra and Mafatlal SC player. Bahadur, scored the lone goal as India defeated Japan 1-0 to win the bronze medal at the 1970 Bangkok Asian Games.
He was also feted by the Maharashtra government for his contribution to the with the state’s highest award for sports, Shiv Chhatrapati Award, in 1973. Amar Bahadur had scored eight goals for Maharashtra in the Santosh Trophy.
All club representatives and football lovers are invited to attend the same. The condolence meeting will held at the Cooperage ground on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2.00 pm.
