Striking good form, Maharashtra State Police did well to overcome DECA (D’Assisi Ex-Students Charitable Association) 2-0 in a Super Division play-off match, at the Poisur Gymkhana Ground, Kandivali on Thursday.
The policemen took control from the start and scored from two fruitful raids in the first half. First Sameer Shaikh fired home the opening goal in the 10th minute and then Jitesh Pardeshi hit the target in the 38th minute to grab a solid 2-0 advatange which they managed to hold on till the end to complete a deserving win. This was the second win for the state cops, who had earlier defeated Millat FC.
In another play-off match, Mumbai Strikers riding on ace scorer Ravish D’Souza’s twin goals got the better of Millat FC by a comfortable 3-0 margin. Ryan John got the third goal.
