Aman Kirnapure of Nagpur has been appointed captain of the Maharashtra State team that will participate in the AIFF National Football Championship (Boys’ Under-17) for the B.C. Roy Trophy to be played at the Railway Institute ground in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, starting From February 2, 2016.
Mumbai’s Ryan D’Souza, an AFC ‘C’ License holder is the Chief Coach of the team and is being accompanied by Sachin Badadhe as Manager.
The state team was selected after a long selection trials process at the Cooperage ground which was supervised by the Chief coach D’Souza. The team boasts of exciting young talent with potential and some having already represented Maharashtra in lower age category competitions.
Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Bihar are in the same group and the winner will qualify for the next phase of the tournament. In the opening match Mahrashtra take on Himachal Pradesh on February 2 and two days later meet Bihar.
