Thumping win for RizviSpringfield


Rizvi Springfield (Bandra) thrashed Jamnabai Narsewe by nine wickets to storm into the semifinals of the B.Khichadia-Khar Gymkhana Suburban schools cricket tournament, held at Azad Maidan here today.

Opting to bat first, Jamnabai batsmen were all at sea against some fine bowling by Anchal Mishra 3/19) and Prashant Solanki 3/12 and were shot out for 57. In reply, Rizvi were home with nine wickets to spare with Suraj Pandey remaining unbeaten with 34.Rizvi will take on Swami Vivekanand (Kandivali), who too notched up a nine-wicket win over Parle Tilak (English).

The other semifinal will be contested by IES New English (Bandra), who scored an emphatic 95 runs win over Oxford Public, and Borivali’s Swami Vivenkanand, whoscored a shock 8-wicket win over fancied Dhirubham Ambani for a place in the final.
