Pramod Kulkarni (SPG) playing a steady game managed to start with a win by scoring close victory against Lalit Jham (PCL) by a 169-144 margin in the Group ‘I’ league match of the SPG-Park Club Billiards Tournament – 2015, jointly organised by the Shivaji Park Gymkhana and Park Club.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Jagdale (ECC) recorded a third successive win by defeating Mehul Sutaria (MCF) 294-206 in the Group ‘H’ league match. Jagdale who in the previous two matches had defeated Sumehr Mago (Khar Gym) and Sagar Jain (NIA) completed his group matches to finish in the number one position and now qualified for the next phase of the competition.
Sutaria, bounced back to score two wins against Sumehr Mago (Khar Gym) 208-159 and Sagar Jain (NIA) 160-150 to take the secondnini position and also qualify as the second player from this group.
In Group ‘M’, Chetan Hemadi (PJHG) won both his games and is almost assured of advancing to the next phase. He first defeated Ashwin Deshmukh (DG) 209-162 and later beat Parag Paithankar (Matoshree) 205-128.
In a one-sided Group ‘E’ match, Chandu Kansodaria (MCF) was in the best of form to easily defeat Mehernosh Billimoria (BG) 322-114.
